Our first blog

First blog post! No idea why we didn’t think of this sooner, but here we are! Today was a super productive day getting this website out for you guys. Carly had already had the kiln going when I got there (Hi, it’s me, Kristina!) so that was the first thing we checked and put some new pieces in to fire at a lower temperature than normal as we are adjusting to different kinds of glazes and making sure pieces aren’t firing and cracking at higher temperatures. She had taken tons of awesome photos of our products during the week and had updated the shop with all of them, so my job was to create descriptions for each of them and highlight how beautiful and functional everything is!

Of course this amount of work called for a cafe break and we got some drinks and tasty pastries to carry us the rest of the day. We also wanted to make sure we figured out our shipping situation so we were on the hunt for a perfect box. Surprisingly we had to go to three different stores for a small enough box to test with and then we had a weird and unnerving experience while leaving! At the front checkout there was a guy causing a scene and not wanting to leave he basically told the workers to call the police on him. So we left as quickly as we could, only for the guy to be right outside while we were waiting for him to pass. Thankfully we were safe but I have a running joke with Carly that whenever I’m with her weird things tend to happen! I guess that’s a good thing for the blog though.

The rest of the day was spent taking tons of photos of all the amazing ways you could utilize our pottery and decorate at the same time! We are super excited for our shop to finally launch and hope to learn so much more along with you.
