Why can't I place an order?

While we settle in to our new home at Mosaic Aisles, we have temporarily paused all online orders until we have a better understanding of our inventory needs.

Will my item look exactly like the listing photo?

Great question! Due to the glazing process, each piece will have slight variations in texture, color, and/or pattern.

Are the items microwave or dishwasher safe?

Great question - YES! As all of our items are made from porcelain and glazed with food safe glazes, they are food safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe.

How long do items take to make?

The answer may surprise you - weeks!

Each item starts out as a ball of clay. From there, each ball is carefully shaped using either a pottery wheel or hand-building with a rolling pin. Once shaped, each piece needs to fully dry out before we can put it in the kiln to bisque fire. This is where the clay becomes ceramic due to the high heat of the kiln (about 1,000 degrees Celsius or over 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit). Once cooled, it's time to glaze - this is where the magic happens! We hand-brush, which means every single item is hand-painted by us over several layers. Once more, it's back to the kiln for the final and longest firing - the glaze fire. During this, the kiln brings the temperature up to over 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit (1,200 degrees Celsius)!

The entire process takes about 2 weeks (or more), but like the saying goes, good things take time.

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

Unfortunately, we do not offer returns or exchanges. However, if there is an issue with your item, please reach out to us.

Do you take custom orders?

Unfortunately, at this time we do not accept custom orders. However, this is something we plan to do in the future. Stay tuned!
